The world's fifth-largest tea exporter, hidden in plain sight
Vietnam produces over 165,000 metric tons of green tea every year and ships to more than 70 countries, yet most international buyers still default to Chinese green tea by habit, not by price or quality. Vietnamese green tea typically lands 15 to 25 percent cheaper than equivalent Chinese grades while offering very similar cup profile and processing styles.
Our role is to bridge that gap. We are a Vietnam-based matching service, not a factory, and not a trader holding stock. You tell us the grade, origin, certifications and volume you need. We check which producers fit, confirm they have an export track record, and introduce you to up to 3 of them. From there you sample, negotiate and buy direct, at factory pricing, with no middleman margin on the tea.
This site is dedicated to one product category, green tea in all its grade variations, because tea sourcing rewards specialists. Generic sourcing platforms list any farm that registers; we only introduce producers whose grade, capacity and export history match your RFQ.

Green Tea Grades We Source

From your spec to a direct supplier relationship
A predictable five-step process. Steps one to three happen within 24 business hours of a complete RFQ; sampling and the trial order run on your timeline, directly with the supplier.
Brief
You share grade, origin, target price, MOQ, certifications and destination market through the RFQ form.
Check
We confirm the brief is feasible in Vietnam and check candidate producers: license, export history, processing style, stated certificates.
Match
We introduce up to 3 producers that fit. An NDA can be signed first if your spec is confidential.
Sample
You request 100 to 250 gram samples from each supplier for cup evaluation and lab testing against your destination MRL.
Order direct
You sign the PI, pay and ship directly with the producer you choose. We recommend third-party inspection on the first container.
Where Vietnamese Green Tea Comes From
Vietnam has three major green tea regions, each with distinct soil, altitude and processing tradition. Choosing the right region narrows your supplier shortlist by half.
- Thai Nguyen Province (North)Vietnam's most famous green tea region. Cooler climate, pan-fired tradition, home of Tan Cuong specialty grade. Best for: premium loose-leaf, single-origin retail, scented blends. Altitude 200 to 600 m.
- Lam Dong / Bao Loc (Central Highlands)Largest production volume in Vietnam. Steamed and pan-fired styles, strong organic and JAS-certified production for the Japanese market. Best for: Sencha-style, bulk OP/BOP, organic. Altitude 800 to 1,500 m.
- Yen Bai / Phu Tho / Son La (Northwest)Mountainous, ancient tea trees (Shan Tuyet up to several hundred years old). Specialty production. Best for: rare specialty teas, ancient-tree marketing stories, very small MOQs. Altitude 1,200 to 2,000 m.
Region guide: Thai Nguyen, Lam Dong, Moc Chau and the Shan Tuyet highlands
Why Most First-Time Buyers Lose Money on Vietnam Tea
Vietnam tea sourcing has three recurring failure modes. Each costs buyers thousands of dollars per shipment, and all are preventable with verification before the container is sealed. The buyers who get burned are rarely the ones who did less research. They are usually the ones who did all their research from a desk, never saw the factory, and trusted that a polished brochure or a professional WhatsApp reply meant a professional operation.
Sample-to-shipment mismatch
The sample tastes excellent; the container does not. Common when working with traders who blend across multiple farms. The fix: a retention sample drawn and sealed at the factory, and an inspector who compares the container against it before sealing.
Pesticide residue rejection
EU MRL and Japan MRL tolerances are tight, and a rejected container can cost more than the cargo itself. Test the trial order against the destination MRL panel before shipping, not after arrival. Your RFQ tells the supplier which panel applies from day one.
Trader posing as factory
The most common Vietnam tea scam: a trader rents a small office, prints a brochure, and intermediates an order from a real factory while marking up 20 percent and adding zero value. We check business registration and export history before any introduction, and you should confirm production with a visit or video audit.
Questions From Tea Buyers
What types of Vietnamese green tea can you source?
We match buyers with producers across the full range of Vietnamese green tea: traditional pan-fired (sao suot), steamed Sencha-style for Japanese buyers, OP and BOP grades for Middle East and North African markets, Jasmine-scented blends, and specialty Tan Cuong from Thai Nguyen. Bulk pricing typically applies from 1 metric ton per shipment.
How are Vietnamese tea suppliers checked before an introduction?
Before a supplier is introduced we check the basics: business license, export history, processing style and the certificates the supplier says it holds, against your RFQ. We do not run factory audits ourselves. For a first order we recommend a buyer-arranged facility audit or video audit, lab testing of samples for moisture and pesticide residues against your destination MRL, and a small trial order before larger volumes.
What certifications are available from Vietnamese green tea producers?
Depending on the supplier and price tier, buyers can find farms and factories holding VietGAP, GlobalG.A.P., USDA Organic, EU Organic, JAS Organic for the Japanese market, Rainforest Alliance, and HACCP for the processing facility. Ask for the certificate and verify it with the issuing body. Organic-certified volume is more limited and typically commands a 25 to 40 percent premium over conventional grades.
What are typical MOQs and lead times for Vietnam green tea export?
Minimum order quantity for bulk green tea is usually 1 metric ton in 25 to 50 kg foil-lined paper sacks, or one 20-foot container at roughly 18 metric tons for cost efficiency. Production lead time runs 3 to 5 weeks after PI signing, plus 25 to 35 days transit to the US West Coast and EU main ports from Ho Chi Minh City.
Can third-party inspection and SGS testing be arranged?
Yes. Buyers commonly book independent pre-shipment inspection through SGS, Bureau Veritas or Intertek, including drawing samples for moisture, ash content, pesticide residue panel, and heavy metals. Inspection cost is paid by the buyer, typically 350 to 600 USD per container depending on test scope, and is strongly recommended for first-time orders. The supplier you are matched with should accept it in writing.
What does it cost the buyer?
Nothing. Sending an RFQ is free and there is no obligation. We introduce your RFQ to up to 3 suitable Vietnamese green tea suppliers within 24 business hours and you deal with them directly on price, contract, payment and shipment.
Are you a Vietnam green tea producer?
We are building a network of Vietnamese green tea factories and cooperatives that receive matched buyer RFQs. If you operate a tea farm or processing facility in Thai Nguyen, Lam Dong, Yen Bai or other Vietnamese tea regions, and you have export experience, register to receive RFQs that fit your grades.
